Garnier has achieved milestones as a brand by releasing some of the best and effective beauty products into the Indian market. The Beauty Benefits or the BB cream is one such product from the house of Garnier which promises to be one of the best of its kind. However as compared to other counterparts in the segment, the performance of the product is not that satisfying. Garnier has been designing its products that would suit to the customers in all Indian climates and this is no exception as well. However there are still some other products in the Indian market which have been providing stiff competition to the product.
Has the product lived up to the expectations?
Although most of the user reviews suggest that the Garnier BB Cream has worked well on their skin, a majority of them also suggest that why not go for other options by paying something extra. There are claims that the skin tone that the user gets after applying the Garnier BB cream looks more artificial as compared to skin tones that are obtained by using other similar BB creams. Where providing a fabulous skin tone is one of the primary purposes of using the cream, Garnier BB Cream fails in that section. Garnier BB Cream, however has additional components like the SPF 24 which prevents the harmful UV rays from touching the skin and makes it ideal for everyday wear, thumbs up for this. Again most of the users complain that the cream provides minimal coverage and fails drastically in case of spots and blemishes. All credits to the thin texture of the cream.
Would I buy the Garnier BB Cream?
No I would not buy the product, especially when I can get a lot better one by paying some extra bucks.
Cream texture and Consistency
The texture of the Garnier BB Cream is thin and watery. This results in the blending of the cream with almost all skin types but reduces its staying power. An ideal BB cream should have a longer staying time on the skin so as to accomplish the purpose. But the watery structure of the cream makes it fade away really fast. Again, the watery nature of the cream results in a very thin layer and the spots and blemishes are rarely covered. So why to use such a cream which cannot even achieve its primary objective of providing good skin coverage?
Aditional components in the Cream
Apart from the primary ingredients, Garnier BB Cream has additional moisturizers which prove to be helpful for all those users who have a dry skin. Yet most of the users with dry skins have reviewed that the moisturizer provided in the cream does not play miracles and they have to use an additional moisturizer for the purpose. Garnier BB Cream also comes with SPF 24 which blocks the UV rays from reaching the skin which is also present in the better counterparts of the cream.
Value for Money
The Garnier BB Cream does not provide that great value for money. When one is paying about 200 bucks for a small tube of the Garnier BB Cream, of course she would expect to see some great results on the skin but the cream fails to provide that. Although the cream is priced a bit lower than its competitors, it should also be noted that the quantity is also less as compared to other similar creams. The inefficiency of the cream to efficiently cover up the dark lines, circles, dark spots and blemishes lessens the value of the product to a significant extent.
Packaging and overall results
The Garnier BB Cream comes in a beige colour packaging which is pretty attractive. Garnier never fails in this. The cap of the tube is broad and the tube is opaque preventing to check how much cream is left in it. The cream is available just in one shade and is beige in colour. However the texture of the cream is watery. The cream comes with a mild fragrance. The cream does not make the skin fair even though used on a regular basis.
The Garnier BB Cream is available at Rs 199 for a 40 grams pack. The ingredients of the Garnier BB Cream include water, ethyexyl palmitate, glycerine, niacinamide, SPF 24, Silica, Octyldodecanol, Fragrance, Benzyl Alcohol, Sweet Almond Fruit extract etc. The shelf life of the Garnier BB Cream is 36 months from the date of manufacturing.
Pros of Garnier BB Cream
- Stylish and sleek packaging which is pocket friendly.
- Mild fragrance and suitable for all skin types
- SPF 24 for protection against UV rays
- Does not make the skin patchy and blends with the skin easily
Cons of Garnier BB Cream
- Available in one shade

When there are better options available in the market, one should refrain from buying the Garnier BB cream and consider investing few more money to get a better product. The Garnier BB Cream is an okay product but can be much better to be able to perform better in the market.
